For many of us, the thought of getting sober was terrifying. We believed alcohol was what made life fun, what brought connection, or helped us cope. The idea of camping without a beer, golfing without a drink, or BBQing without whiskey felt empty. We thought sobriety meant losing everything.
But the truth is, alcohol was the thing holding us back. At Forge, we help our men break that lie—through evidence-based recovery, trauma therapy, 12-step guidance, and spiritual restoration. We help them reconnect with a power greater than themselves, rebuild their health, and rediscover who they are through hard work, structure, and vocational training that leads to real purpose.
They learn to cook, train, work, lead, and live—fully present, fully engaged, and surrounded by a brotherhood that refuses to let them fall back into old patterns. Because freedom isn’t found in the bottle. It’s found in becoming the man you were meant to be.
This is what Forge offers: a path out of addiction and into strength, clarity, purpose, and lasting transformation.
At Forge, connection happens everywhere—on the river, around the fire, at the dinner table, and in the everyday work of living side by side.
Whether it’s fishing at sunrise or cleaning up after a shared meal, our men build trust, learn accountability, and grow into men others can count on.
Because true recovery isn’t just about staying sober—it’s about doing life together.

Forge Recovery Academy is located in the mountains of central Idaho, just outside the town of McCall.
Our campus provides a peaceful, rural setting with full access to modern amenities—ideal for focused recovery, hands-on trade training, and personal growth in a structured, supportive environment.
Because sobriety is just the beginning. At Forge, we believe recovery without responsibility is a half-built foundation. That’s why we go beyond just staying clean—we prepare young men for real life.
Here, they learn how to show up—on time, with a firm handshake, and a sense of purpose. They take ownership of daily responsibilities like keeping their space clean, cooking their own meals, doing laundry, and even ironing a shirt. These aren't chores—they're life skills.
We also know that once they leave Forge, they’ll face real-world triggers—stress, conflict, pressure. Through vocational training, structure, and mentorship, we equip them with the tools to not only stay sober but to build a future they’re proud of. The result? Men who are not just sober—but employable, dependable, and ready to lead in their careers, families, and communities.
Yes—and more than that, we help you become the kind of man who gets hired and keeps the job.
Throughout your time at Forge, you'll gain hands-on experience in the trades, build a strong work ethic, and develop real-life skills that employers look for—like showing up early, taking ownership, and following through.
We also connect you with industry professionals, provide resume support, and offer guidance on job placement. Many of our graduates leave with certifications, glowing recommendations, and a clear path forward.
Our goal isn't just to help you get a job—it's to prepare you to thrive in one.
Let’s just say—nobody leaves Forge hungry.
We bring in a professional chef to cater select meals and set the standard, but the real goal is to teach our men how to fuel themselves—with skill, intention, and flavor. From gourmet meal prep to cost-effective cooking, they’ll learn it all.
Cooking is part of the brotherhood here. Our guys prepare meals together, clean up together, and take pride in what they put on the table. Whether it’s a weeknight stir-fry or a weekend BBQ, every meal is an opportunity to grow in responsibility, discipline, and community.
And yes—everything we serve is nutritious, balanced, and built to support recovery and performance. When our men leave Forge, they’ll know how to cook a steak, prep a clean meal on a budget, and impress a dinner table—anywhere.
At Forge, fun isn’t just a reward—it’s part of the recovery process. We believe joy, challenge, and brotherhood are fuel for long-term sobriety.
Being based in the mountains of central Idaho means we’ve got year-round adventure at our doorstep. In the winter, we don’t just ski—we snowboard, snowshoe, and hit the trails for cold-weather hikes and training. Our guys build fires, learn winter survival skills, and embrace the kind of grit that comes from showing up when it’s below freezing.
In the warmer months, we fish the Salmon River, mountain bike rugged singletrack, kayak glassy alpine lakes, and train outdoors. Strength training is a staple in every season. And when it’s time to relax, we host BBQs, movie nights, fireside talks, and brotherhood-building activities that go deeper than surface-level fun.
This is what sober fun looks like: active, challenging, full of purpose—and unforgettable.
No—but working a program is.
At Forge, we don’t force the 12 Steps, but we highly recommend them. Many of our staff have worked the Steps themselves and can serve as trusted mentors along the way. That said, we recognize that recovery isn’t one-size-fits-all.
If a young man connects more with SMART Recovery or another evidence-based approach, we support that. What matters is that he commits to a path of spiritual and emotional growth—not just sobriety.
Our role is to help each man choose the program that fits and hold him accountable to it. Because without structure, there’s no transformation. At Forge, you won’t walk this road alone—but you will walk it with intention.
